November 30, 2009 - The Swiss population voted to ban the construction of minarets on future or existing mosques but did not ban the construction of new mosques themselves. Before you rush to conclude that the Swiss are anti-Islamic, consider that most Islamic countries under shari'ah law ban the construction of churches (Saudi Arabia) or else restrict and limit the construction of a church. Freedom of religion has nothing to do with architectural features on a building of worship. It has to do with the ability to worship (or not) as one sees fit without fear of persecution. Islam does not recognize this freedom. Its own Prophet Muhammad said "whoever changes his Islamic religion, then kill him" (Bukhari 9:57). Click below for the full story.
