November 28, 2009 - In Sudan, within a 90-minute period a 16-year-old Christian girl was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to receive 50 lashes with a whip for "offending public morality" by wearing a short skirt. The skirt fell between her knee and ankle and was considered appropriate for her tribe and its customs. However, Sudan is split between a Muslim northern region that imposes shari'ah law and its harsh punishments for moral crimes, and a Christian southern region. Click article below for full story.
